Abstract

The mineral composition of any mushroom in Bosnia and Herzegovina has never been researched, and the main goal of this work is to investigate the composition of heavy metals and macroelements found in the morel, as well as in the soil. This is also a new site for the morel. All previously known sites for the morel are provided, along with relevant parameters related to the studied area. The pH value was measured using a Metter Toledo 320 pH meter. The content of humus and P and K were determined using dichromate and ammonium lactate (AL) methods. The mineral composition was analyzed for the content of heavy metals and macroelements both in the mushroom and the soil. Heavy metals and macroelements in the mushrooms were extracted in a mixture of HNO3 and H2SO4, and then in an aqueous solution containing hydrochloric and nitric acid. Finally, the concentration of the same in both the soil and the mushrooms was determined using a Shimadzu AA-7000 atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The research was conducted from April to May 2024. High levels of zinc have been recorded. A greater amount of nickel and chromium has been measured in March, while copper, zinc, and cadmium have higher values in the soil. The values of potassium and calcium are multiple times higher in March, while magnesium and iron are higher in the soil. The value of iron is significantly higher in the soil than in March. This is the second site in this area within the planted forests.
